don't overload your motorcycle suspension

Stay in Control Keep an eye out on your capacity

Every motorcycle exits the factory with shock absorbers with a base setting dialed in. However, you probably don’t perfectly fit the profile of the average-Joe (or Jane) the manufacturer had in mind, and even if you do, stock suspension quality is not exactly premium. Time to take some notes! We’ll run you through the differences between stock shock absorbers versus our premium TFX Suspension products and how that leads to a more enjoyable ride at every level.

Stock suspension
Depending on where in the entry-level-to-premium spectrum your bike sits, it was either delivered with fixed suspension or a fully adjustable set front to back. In case of the former, the lack of adjustability means you’ll soon meet the limits of what the suspension has to offer. In case of the latter, there is margin to adjust the suspension and play around with the settings. However, this still comes with limitations.

Suspension hardware
As fancy as suspension seems to get on A-spec motorcycles, the used hardware -such as the incorporated springs- is developed with an average in mind. If you move away from this average by too much, you will notice it when riding as the setup is not developed with your dimensions and weight in mind. Not only will this affect the handling of your bike, but you will also put extra pressure on tires, wheel bearings, your bike’s frame, and -obviously- your suspension components.

The power of personalized suspension
Your suspension is there to filter out the forces you put on your bike, to ensure you are always in full control. The right suspension irons out bumps, but also copes with additional weight. Did you know that manufacturers build the stock suspension for a load of 75kg? From being heavier than the average your motorcycle’s manufacturer had in mind, to adding a passenger and a surplus of luggage. If your motorcycle suspension isn’t up for the job, you will notice it on the road. That’s why we offer you the power to personalize your suspension so you can make full use of your bike under any circumstance while ensuring you are always in control.
